Christopher-Street-Day
Gay Prides in Germany are named CSD :Christopher-Street-Day .
CSD is the annual European LGBT celebration in various cities in Germany.
The name comes from the New York's Christopher Street in Greenwich Village where on June 28, 1969 a police assaults against gays .
The first CSD was in Bremen and Berlin in 1979.
(beside a small version in Münster in April 1972) .
There are now 37 CSD days in Germany .

Germany’s big cities have prosperous gay scenes in Dusseldorf , Frankfurt , Berlin and koln . There are large numbers of bars, clubs, cafe, saunas and restaurants for gays.
For example in Berlin there is an estimated gay/lesbian population of well over a quarter of a million and the gay scene is for all tastes.

Gay & Lesbian scene in Berlin
The Gay Scene in Berlin is as diverse as the city´s districts.
In most parts of (West-)Berlin gay people are as accepted as anyone else. In the main districts, Kreuzberg, Schöneberg, Mitte, Friedrichshain & Prenzlauer Berg, same sex couples can be seen, like any other couples, kissing and holding hands.
Because of this acceptability, the gay scene and Gay social life is not limited to gay venues.
But aware : particularly to the East of Berlin, the presence of right wing elements means that same sex couples need to be more cautious about showing affection in public.
